For Marc and this coming "Ask Me Anything" cafe this Wednesday.  I uploaded a new score: https://musescore.com/user/35676498/scores/6985360.
I've run into some formatting problems, most of the I think I solved except in page 9 (bar 40-41) the Grand staff is too close to the tenor/bass staff.  Would you please address this in Aug.1st meeting?  Thank you.

How Beautiful

Contrafact on "For Dad" by Marc Sabetella.

🗝️
This was written to complete an assignment in Musescore Masterclass by Marc Sabatella. The assignment was to create a new melody over a chord progression provided by him and used in a composition dedicated to his late father. I chose to create a string duet (violin and cello) in an attempt to write interesting parts that would create a conversation of sorts. This was a really fun exercise and caused me to expand my melodic thinking while integrating principles of counterpoint.  Here's the link:

And In That Day

🗝️
This is a new choral work I have recently finished.  Based on Isaiah 12, I wished for many years to set this to music.  I hope I have done so in a manner that enhances the message.  I submit this to the community for constructive criticism and other comments.

This is the second of, I hope, three settings of Isaiah scriptures.  I'm working on a third so that it will become a three movement choral work.

Psalm 23 by Dean H. Hamill

🗝️
Submitted for the Music Master Class duet assignment.  This is an original setting of Psalm 23 for low voice with piano accompaniment.  Though I composed my first arrangement of this many years ago, this updated arrangement (as of this week) has some significant changes from earlier versions.  Your comments and constructive criticism invited.  Thank you.

Dean Hamill - Composer, arranger

🗝️
I started piano lessons when nine years old (1959).  As a teenager, I secretly wanted to be a Beatle, so I took up guitar and was a rock & roll guitarist and electric bass player in the mid-1960s and early 1970s.  In college, I fell in love with classical music genre and have focused most of my attention and listening in that area for the past fifty years.  I hold a bachelor degree in classical guitar performance from University of Southern California, studied with Christopher Parkening and Pepe Romero and taught guitar in several colleges.  I also hold a masters degree in music.  In the 1980s I authored and published a five-hour video instruction course, Guitar Now! with Dean Hamill.  My main focus and interest in music is sacred choral composition and arranging, usually with piano accompaniment.
